  • Training on employer and employee rights and responsibilities
  • Information on In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) benefits

Intake and Assessment Process

  1. Assess the type of personal assistant needed based on the consumer’s circumstances and goals.
  2. Provide referrals to potential personal assistants.
  3. Connect consumers with additional resources and support services, such as PASC (Personal Assistance Services Council) and SEIU (Service Employees International Union), when appropriate.
  4. Identify available funding sources, including IHSS and other applicable programs.
  5. Provide consumer training on interviewing, selecting, and hiring a personal assistant.
  6. Conduct follow-up activities to assess progress and determine whether the consumer’s needs and goals are being met.
