Housing Services

The DRC serves as a housing resource connection, helping people with disabilities access information, referrals, and support to locate and maintain safe, accessible, and affordable housing.

This is a brief description of the Housing Services and information.

  • Latest information on Housing Choice Voucher, HCV, (formally section 8 voucher program) application process and waiting list.
  • Rent – subsidized building units’ information and rental referrals.
  • Information on your rights as tenant and referrals to agencies that can help offer legal services.
  • Deinstitutionalization- Transition and Diversion
  • Utilities assistance programs information

Acceptance processes vary by housing resource. For example, applicants for low-income housing are typically placed on a waiting list and should regularly follow up with the Apartment building  or Housing Authority where they applied.
