The Disabled Resources Center, Inc. (DRC) is dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through education, advocacy, community engagement, and independent living services. Our staff and volunteers actively connect individuals, families, service providers, and community organizations with valuable resources that promote accessibility, inclusion, and independence.
Through presentations, informational booths, workshops, training sessions, resource fairs, and participation in community and civic events, DRC works to increase awareness of disability-related issues and ensure that individuals with disabilities have access to the information and support they need to thrive.
A cornerstone of DRC’s outreach efforts is our long-standing Mobility Management and Travel Training Program. Offered both on-site and throughout the community, this program provides individualized and group instruction designed to help participants safely, confidently, and independently use public transportation. Training includes trip planning, route navigation, travel safety, transit etiquette, use of online transportation resources, and hands-on experience using buses and rail systems. By building confidence and practical travel skills, participants gain greater access to employment, education, healthcare, recreation, and community involvement.
In addition to travel training, DRC collaborates with local schools, community organizations, government agencies, and public service providers to promote disability awareness, accessibility, and equal opportunities for all residents. Through these partnerships, DRC helps foster a more inclusive and accessible community where people with disabilities can participate fully and independently.
