Medi-Cal Information
Are you eligible for Medi-Cal health insurance coverage? The California Medical Assistance Program (Medi-Cal or MediCal) is California’s Medicaid program, serving low-income individuals, including: families, seniors, persons with disabilities, children in foster care, pregnant women, and childless adults with incomes below 138% of the Federal poverty level. Medi-Cal is supported by Federal and State taxes. Medi-Cal provides benefits similar to the coverage options available through Covered California, but often at lower or no cost to you or your family.
All of the health plans offered through Covered California or by Medi-Cal include the same comprehensive set of benefits, known as “essential health benefits.” Staff members of Disabled Resources Center, Inc. (DRC) who are certified as Covered California Enrollment Counselors can help you determine your eligibility for Medi-Cal through the Covered California application process. Assistance is free, and available in many languages.
For more information, dial our main number, (562) 427-1000, and talk to the front desk personnel to be referred to a staff member who is certified as a Covered California Enrollment Counselor.
