Independent Living Skills (ILS) / Peer Support Counseling
This program provides people with disabilities an opportunity to attain their goal to live independently. The coordinator assesses the consumer’s independent living skills level and provides appropriate ILS training or individual/group support.
Independent Living Skills
• Speakers and Workshops on community resources
• Life skills training for independent living
• Stepping Stones to Employment/Peer Counselor Training
Disabled Resources Center is currently offering 2 cross-disability support groups. They are:
• Tuesday 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm - Peer Counseling / Stepping Stones to Employment training (8 Week Certificate Class)
• Thursday 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm - Co-ed Peer Support Group
Peer Support Services
• Individual family and group Peer Support to deal with the problems of personal and social adjustment, social skills, and inter-personal relationships
